Steve Herberman, a local jazz guitarist, will play songs by the great Tin Pan Alley composers Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jimmy Van Heusen, Harold Arlen and Harry Warren. Stories and brief biographical information on each composer will lead into a discussion of their unique contributions to the "Great American Songbook."

Steve is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and he currently teaches at Sidwell Friends School and the Washington Conservatory. Playing the seven-string guitar, he has performed at venues such as Birdland in NYC, Blues Alley, and the Kennedy Center. Steve has played with renowned musicians such as Keter Betts, Buster Williams, Gary Bartz and many more.
