Volunteers
How You Can Help
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Chevy Chase At Home. Our commitment to our older neighbors makes transportation and home services possible and also contributes to an inter-generational spirit of community. Residents of all ages can volunteer for tasks that suit their schedules, skills, and preferences.
Our volunteers will provide local transportation to medical and other appointments, run errands and do shopping, help with simple household tasks, and provide administrative support for the organization.
Wouldn't you like to volunteer? Our brochure outlines our range of volunteer services. If you want to know more, send us an e-mail or call 301 657-3115.
Application, Orientation and Training
Prospective volunteers will submit a simple form including the type(s) of service(s) they are interested in delivering and the frequency, days and times of their availabilty. Each applicant is interviewed by a member of the Volunteer Services Committee and the Volunteers Coordinator to clarify the applicant's interests and availability and explain the responsibilities involved. Regardless of the type of services the prospective volunteer will provide, he or she will attend a 3 hour training session prior to delivery of services.
