As an alternative to institutional care, "Aging in Place" means staying in one's own home even when age or health related changes may make it difficult to do so. Although a large majority of older Americans say they want to Age in Place, it is often more easily said than done. Today's care infrastructure, technologies, existing housing, funding sources, and the businesses and services available for Aging in Place are not being fully realized in order to achieve the promise most hope for as America ages. Our speaker, Mr. Louis Tenenbaum, will discuss Aging in Place with a more comprehensive approach that includes real estate and political issues, as well as aging and health, the already existing state and local tax credit programs that safety and aging in place home modifications qualify for, and about the proposed federal legislation that Louis' group - Homes Renewed, is pushing that also provides a tax credit on federal taxes. Hosted by Potomac Community Village. Limited to 100 attendees.
