The Honorable Judge Churchill will present immigration law update including the hot legal issues in the news! Joan Churchill received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1962 and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan law school in 1965. From 1966 to 1967, and again from 1979 to 1980, Judge Churchill was in private practice. Between the years 1978 to 1979, Judge Churchill was detailed by the Department of Justice to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Immigration Reform and also the Select Commission on Immigration Reform. From 1967 to 1972, she was an attorney with the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Judge Churchill served as assistant legal editor for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education for the University of Michigan from 1965 to 1966. She is a member of the National Association of Immigration Judges, and the Michigan, New York, District of Columbia andMaryland Bar Associations.
