One of the concerns about the US electoral process is the widespread use of gerrymandering by State Legislatures. As a result, Congressional representation in Congress and State offices represent the will of the political party doing the gerrymandering and is not an equitable expression of the State’s voters. The speaker is Hal Wolman, PhD who is an Friendship Heights Neighbor Network Member and Volunteer. He is extremely knowledgeable about how our government functions. Dr. Wolman is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at The George Washington University. He currently is Research Professor at the George Washington Institute of Public Policy. He has his PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan and has held academic positions at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; Wayne State University; the University of Massachusetts-Boston; and the University of Pennsylvania.
